Hi there, I hope everybody is having a great week so far? The most depressing day of the year has passed us by (Monday 16th) so this weekend is all about having some fun in honour of Chinese New Year. Welcome in the year of the Dragon with our recommendations:
Friday 20th January: DJ Ramon @ Camino, 28 Westferry Circus, E14 8RR, 7PM-Midnight, FREE
This well travelled DJ will be bringing his musical delights to Canary Wharf riverside on Friday as the ever popular Camino welcomes the weekend in. Having played all over the world including New York, Berlin and Spain there should be a variety of music to suit your listening and dancing tastes. HERE is the link for more information.
Saturday 21st January: Congo Faith Healers @ Boisdale, Cabot Place, Canary Wharf, E14 4QT, 9PM, £10-£25
A band that mixes ‘swamp infested’ gypsy blues, with wild savage guitar playing, voodoo vocals, Latin American drum and trumpet grooves with rockabilly double bass. Their debut album was recorded in just two days but has already received rave reviews. They count Bob Geldoff and Ronnie Wood as fans and have performed and worked with some of the biggest names in the British music industry. It sounds like a wild night and HERE are all the details
Sunday 22nd January: Edgar Martins: This is not a House @ The Wapping Project, Wapping Wall, E1W 3SG, 12PM-5.30PM, FREE
An interesting photographic display charting the US housing crisis and the collapse of the sub-prime mortgage market. Very current and topical, a look into how the recession that is affecting us now started but though a series of photos. HERE are some details.
and for the kids…
